cryogenic-service-centrePrior Diesel, a Suretank company and leading supplier of diesel driven power solutions and well service products to the oil and gas, marine and industrial sectors, is delighted to announce the opening of a dedicated cryogenic service facility.

Located at its Great Yarmouth base in the UK, the new service centre incorporates a team of engineers with over 25 years experience specialising in cryogenics.

The new cryogenic service centre can accommodate all aspects of low temperature well service applications, from complete overhauls to the supply of new components which can be shipped to various global destinations.

Equipment serviced within the centre includes cryogenic high pressure pumps (drive/warm ends and cold ends) from 60,000 to 540,000 SCFH and up to 15,000psi, cryogenic centrifugal boost pumps, manifolds, PRVs and other related equipment.

Gordon MacLean, sales director at Prior Diesel, commenting on the new service centre said: “The investment has meant a significant expansion to our cryogenic service capacity. We now have a dedicated department for cryogenic repairs and a team of trained technicians. We’ve also invested heavily in stock including service exchange equipment ready for immediate dispatch to our customers.

“This state of the art facility combined with our expert staff enables us to repair a vast array of cryogenic equipment available on the market today. We have existing customers with Prior Diesel built equipment that will benefit from the improved service, and we are also able to service other leading manufacturers’ equipment.”

Prior Diesel was acquired by Suretank in January 2015. Suretank is the world’s largest manufacturer of tanks and cargo-carrying units for the offshore oil and gas industry and all of its products are produced to DNV 2.7-1 certification as standard.

Diesel Engine Repair on Demand

Friday, February 5th, 2016

diesel-engine-repairDiesel Engine repair doesn’t stop at holiday time!

Prior Diesel’s worldwide diesel engine repair and maintenance service was active over the Christmas and New Year holidays, proving that at Prior Diesel we really do offer service you can rely on 24/7.

On 30th December our customer reported engine failure on board their windfarm support vessel based in Germany, which needed to be up and running by New Year’s Day. Due to the holiday period their engine supplier was unable to provide assistance in time so they turned to Prior Diesel for help.

Appreciating the gravity of their situation we had no hesitation in offering them immediate assistance. We advised on repairs, ordered parts required and mobilised an engineer to travel to Germany on New Year’s Eve, with repairs carried out and completed on New Year’s Day.

Stuart Holland, Parts Manager at Prior Diesel commenting on the service said: “We understand the customers’ need for service 24/7 and we’re pleased that our actions resulted in reducing downtime for the vessel.”

At the end of it we had an extremely happy customer and a fully functioning vessel repaired in time to meet its charter commitments.

3D modelling investment

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

wireline-unitPrior Diesel, a Suretank company and leading supplier of diesel driven power solutions and well service products to the oil and gas, marine and industrial sectors, has invested in the latest 3D modelling technology.

The 3D CAD software from Solidworks transforms the way customers are able to view products, along with Prior Diesel’s ability to design engineered solutions through 3D modelling on screen.

Jonathan Mills, production manager at Prior Diesel commenting on the investment said: “More and more customers expect to see a visual 3D model and it’s gradually becoming an industry standard. It’s greatly enhanced our technical drawings as it allows us to build a unit in model form on screen. It makes it much easier for customers to visualise the finished product as the onscreen model can be rotated to any view, and components can also be added or removed.

“It’s allowing our engineering team to work much faster and smarter and has greatly improved the customers’ experience of the design process.”

Prior Diesel was acquired by Suretank in January 2015. Suretank is the world’s largest manufacturer of tanks and cargo-carrying units for the offshore oil and gas industry and all of its products are produced to DNV 2.7-1 certification as standard.

Suretank products are found worldwide, including the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Caspian, Sakhalin, India, Australia, Middle East and the Far East. Its product range includes offshore chemical tanks and acid tanks, helifuel tanks, offshore containers, baskets, mudskips and cryogenic tanks.
